One of the fun things I have loved over the last few years of Christmas is starting our own holiday traditions. One of my favorite new traditions is our Elf on the Shelf. His name is Squirt! If you aren’t familiar with the Elf on the Shelf concept, it is a great little package that you can purchase and it comes with a story and your own elf that you adopt. The elf comes each year at Christmastime to keep an eye on the children and each night flies back to the North Pole to report to Santa on how the kids behaved that day. Each morning, he is in a new spot in the house to keep watch from.
It’s always so fun to see Ty & Bailey wake up in the morning and look for Squirt. Bailey’s actually getting really good at finding him and it’s so cute how excited she gets when she sees him throughout the day!
It’s always a challenge to figure out how to have Squirt “arrive” each year at our house and this year there was extra concern about whether or not he would be able to find our new house. This year he showed up in a package addressed to us from the North Pole and Ty promptly ripped it open and was very happy to see that Squirt had made it safely.
This weekend I’m hoping to take a few photos of Squirt in some of his creative hiding places.
