Visiting Santa 2010

You may remember from last year that we get to go see the REAL Santa at the Mall of America.  He is simply amazing!  I didn’t have very high expectations for this year, simply because the age that Bailey is at now (20 months) is exactly the same age Tyson was when we had this experience with Santa.  So, I was prepared for screaming and tears.  Well, just because that’s the kind of girl Bailey is!

But, I knew that if anyone could do it, it was THIS Santa!  I had never seen a child cry with him in the few years that we’ve been going to him…but, I tried to keep reality in check.

He started off with just talking to Tyson, which is awesome because this way Tyson could review his list that he wrote.  Because it was going to take a few minutes to get through it!  In case you can’t quite make it out, his list was as follows:

  1. Wii Madden NFL Game
  2. Snowboard
  3. Nerf Gun (with an attempt to cross it out per Mommy’s request as we do not allow guns in our house!:-))
  4. DS (this was at first the #1 thing on the list, then he took it off entirely.  However, since the Elves were busy early in the season, we convinced him that it needed to get added back on)

Santa really took the time to ask Tyson about all the things on his list and to make sure that he was being helpful around the house and with his little sister.

Here’s a little video of their discussion too.  :-)

As you can see, Bailey came into the scene later.  Santa had this great idea for him to leave the room briefly and for her and Ty to sit on the chair and read a book together.  BRILLIANCE at it’s finest!!  She loved it and then Santa snuck in for the photos!  She SMILED people!!  Christmas miracle I tell you! 😛

I also love that Santa gives out toothbrushes instead of candy canes!

I love the age that Tyson is at and the magic of the whole Christmas season!
