I guess the trick to winning the baby pool was to be named Amy!  I’m happy to announce the winners of our Lemaniak Baby Pool!  We collected $65 in the entries, so each of the payouts will be $32.50!

For the closest date and time guess, Amy C (a co-worker of mine) won with the only guess on March 14th at 3:15 pm.  I find it pretty strange that she was exactly off by 12 hours too, nice job Amy!!

For the closest weight and length, Amy L (my sister-in-law) won with the closest guess of 7 lbs, 3 oz. (birth weight was 7 lbs 1 oz) and with the length of 18.3″.  Congrats, Amy!

Thanks for playing everyone, it was a lot of fun to see all of the different guesses that came in!

Tonight will mark one week since I went in to labor and had our little girl. I feel bad that I haven’t had a chance to post ANYTHING on here yet about it, but I’m sure you all understand.

Our sweet Bailey Marie arrive very early Saturday morning at 3:15 am. She weighed 7 lbs and 1 oz and was 19 1/4″ long. We are all getting settled in at home and I’m going to be writing up my birth story here shortly. But first, here are some photos from her arrival that I wanted to share.

Wow, it’s been so much fun to see all of the guesses that have come in for the baby pool. It’s not too late to get in on the fun! If you’d like to join in, go here to fill out the form. If you’re not up for gambling, you can still get in on the fun of guessing, you just won’t be eligible to win the $$$$ if you’re the closest! Right now we have 17 guesses in the running and they are ranging from those that love me (and guessed in the next few days) to those that want me to suffer (and guessed into late next week). Also, everyone was kind enough to not guess that I was going to have some sort of ginormous baby (hopefully that will end up being the case!).

We’re going to close the pool at midnight on Thursday, March 12th. I have a doctor’s appointment the next day which will likely have a major update associated with it, so it’s only fair to close it before then. After it’s closed, I’ll put up the results so we can all sit and watch and wait to see who the two big winners will be!

So, here’s a brief update on Miss Bailey. I had my 39 week appointment yesterday and let’s just say (I don’t want to gross you all out too much) that I’m to the point of “progression” that when I was like this with Ty, I was well into labor and in the hospital. The good news about that is, I have less work to do once I do go into labor and that means it “should” be that much shorter! Yay!

I have one more week left at work, next Friday is my last “planned” day. My next Dr.‘s appt is next Friday, when I will be 2 days shy of my due date. My awesome Dr. did say that if I made it that far, then we would pick an induction date a few days into the following week, so somewhere around the 16th through the 18th. I’m just REALLY happy to have an end in sight. That at least in the next week and a half, we WILL have this baby here!

I’ve pretty much convinced myself that it will come down to an induction, but my Dr. seems to think that I’ll go on my own before my next appointment, so stay close, it could be any time now. I’m having a lot of contractions, but they really aren’t amounting to much of a pattern or pain, so until they do, we can’t get too excited.

I honestly wouldn’t mind if she waits a few more days anyway. Ty had a nasty cold all of last weekend and surprise, surprise, guess who got it! So, I’m congested as all get out and feel like crap. And frankly, I can’t even imagine how miserable labor would be feeling like this, so I’m happy for her to hold off a while longer.

So, that’s about it for now. When the time does come, I’ll probably be able to update easiest through Twitter which feeds to Facebook, so check there for updates!

Of course no post would be complete without a photo or two, so here are some that Ty let me take last weekend. I was practicing after my last photography class last week and playing with my new reflector I got. I really tried to get good focus on his eyes and make sure they were nice and sharp, I was pretty happy with how these turned out (despite the fact he was really uncooperative and in his jammies, but you take what you can get, right?!)

 

 

My fabulous friend, Sally, hosted a baby shower a couple of weekends ago for me. It was small and intimate and so much fun! We really didn’t need too many things this time around, but I somehow got lucky enough to get all of the things I really wanted to get for this baby, so thanks everyone!!

New bathtub, it’s so adorable and I can’t wait to use it. My aunt Karla wrapped it in this adorable towel with the pink feather boas! Too cute!

New crib acquarium. We LOVED this thing when Ty was a baby, he would play with it for quite a while after he’d wake up in the morning, which meant a few more minutes of shut eye for us!

SO excited to use the Bjorn this time around. We had a cheapie carrier with Ty and used it quite a bit, so I know this one will get even more use and it’s SO COMFY!!

This is kind of funny. In January, my mom and sister and I went to Babies R Us to get all the things I needed for this time around. She got me my diaper bag that I wanted and said it was for my shower. Except, she wasn’t going to let me have it until then! Well, of course I was not about to let that fly because I really wanted to get it packed and ready to go for the hospital. So I promised her I would bring it when I had my shower to show everyone so she didn’t look cheap.
