A Very Olivia Birthday Party!

Since Ty and Bailey’s birthdays are about a month apart (March 14 and April 18) this year we just decided to do one joint family party somewhere in between the two of them.  So, the first weekend in April, we had our “family” party.  Since Tyson was going to be having a separate kid party closer to his birthday, I decided to have a more girly theme to this one for Bailey.  Since we still have a major Olivia the Pig obsession in our house, and Bailey had a perfect white and black polka dot dress I bought back in August for this event, I figured that would be the perfect choice!

Inspired by this blog post, I got rolling!  My first project was of course the feather boa wreath for the light in the kitchen.  It was SUPER easy to make.  You can find the instructions here.  Mine didn’t turn out as fancy, but still cute nonetheless!

Now it was onto the food.  The party was at 1 pm, so I just wanted to have a bunch of apps and finger foods.  I’ve been looking for a reason to make Bakerella’s Cake Pops for some time now and since Olivia is all about all things red, decided that red velvet cake pops would be the perfect addition to the party.  They were so.yummy!!  I also made these super easy Oreo Cookie Suckers.  These were a HUGE hit too!

We also had Olivia’s “Rules of Life’ on little cards around the house.  That’s one of my favorite parts of the show and her books!

The kids had SO much fun and of course got spoiled rotten!  And mommy had fun too going overboard once again with a party.  I’m always stressed out at the last minute about these things, but I know that there are only a few more years left that I’ll have to be able to have ANY opinions about the parties.  So, I need to take advantage while I can!
Happy Birthday Bailey & Tyson!

Bailey’s 2nd Birthday!

I am so behind!  Things have been so busy, but I’m going to really try and get caught up at least on the birthday posts!  We had a ton of fun on on Bailey’s 2nd birthday.  She had a couple of small gifts to open and we had some cake too!  Oh yeah, and crown me mother of the year for not having any candles on hand.  Ooops!  Thank God she’s only 2 and didn’t really know any better.  She was too concerned about the cake!

She got an adorable jewelry box, you know the kind where the ballerina spins inside?  L.o.v.e.! And for her “big” gift we got her a new trike.  At first I thought that long handle thing would be totally tacky to have, but you know, for once Tony was right and I have been SO happy to have that thing there since she can’t pedal yet!  My back is thanking me every time we got to the park with it!

Happy Birthday, Bailey!

One Week

I’ve officially survived my first whole week as a stay at home mom and full time photographer.  Of course we haven’t been sick all winter and Tuesday B came down with a cold, then Wednesday Ty got it, and of course, Thursday was the lucky day for me!  But, despite that minor setback, I managed to get in all 3 days of training in the Couch to 5K Week 1 and it went much better than I anticipated!

I also started an Herbal Cleanse last Monday too and we’ve really been working hard to clean up our eating habits.  Not only for our own health, but to set a better example of the kids.  So, I thought this would be a great way for me to start it off, rid my body of all the bad stuff and start with a clean slate, literally!

A co-worker of mine from TR had told me about this line of products and said most people lose between 5–10 lbs on just this cleanse.  So, I decided to give it a go, as I really had nothing to lose.  Well, so far I’ve lost 7 lbs and still have 2 more days to go!  And the best part?  I feel SO much better, healthier, and am sleeping better at night too!  I’m sure it’s a combination of eating better, exercising and the cleanse, but I must say, if you’re in need for a kick start, definitely give this a shot!

I also signed up as a distributor so I could get all of their products for 20% off because I can definitely see us using these more long term, the energy drinks have been fantastic before workouts and the Oasis, wow, that stuff is simply amazing!  So, if you’d like to give any of their stuff a try, you can shop right through my Shop here!

And here we are…

I’m on Day #2 of my new chapter of my life.  It’s been going about how I anticipated it would.  Very busy mornings while we get Tyson off to school, then B and I head to the gym for her to play at “the babies” and for me to get my butt in gear.  :-)  I signed up for a 5K at the end of April, so it’s time to start training (did I mention I’ve always hated running?!)

It’s so bizarre not hearing the alarm go off every morning, but rather hearing Ty come into the bedroom asking when I’m going to get up.  Just a different kind of alarm now!  And lately, they’ve been waking up before 7, hopefully when daylight savings time ends in a couple of weeks, that will adjust to an hour later. :-)

When we’re home and Ty’s at school, we spend a lot of time in our family room, just playing and hanging out.  I think one of B’s favorite gifts she got for Christmas was this fantastic toy!  She literally plays with this every day.  She is always busy drawing “horsies” and lots of circles which she tells us are of us all.  It’s so cute!  I love watching her little hands draw.

She’s so focused sometimes

Until this one has to interrupt her :-P
